I think the bloggers should help IOC by providing concrete evidence, and not "claims", sensational claim makes good reading materials but not help. If it is proven that He is underage, then China's gymnastic team should return the gold medal to the more deserving team, no second solution to it !. But then, the bigger question here is ; Will the loser accept the verdict (after investigation) of IOC graciously and admit that they were just not good enough (yet) and work harder for the next Olympic ?........And will the media accept the verdict professionally even if it didn't go the way they wanted it to be ?

26th December 2007
 14 Moyston Street CARSELDINE 4034
Dear Mr Fukuda

I’m writing to you on behalf of our great whales of the oceans of the world and particularly the Australian Antarctic.
I would like to declare that Australia as a nation object strongly to the Japanese coming into our great oceans of the world and culling these beautiful majestic creatures that the world want to see and appreciate.
Our tourism industry benefits by means of more than $500 million annually by whale watching and this has only come about with the whales being confident that they no longer need to fear man. Paradoxically a lot of these tourists that enjoy watching these great creatures are in fact of Japanese nationality.
The Japanese Government need to understand that they could make a lot more money out of whale watching than they ever could by whale killing, and in the process teach there future generations to preserve and appreciate these great creatures of the ocean. Unfortunately now with these whaling ships from Japan coming into our waters performing such atrocities these whales will learn to fear man, and our whale watching industry as we know it now will no longer exist, due to this senseless killing.
The claim that the Japanese government are doing this under the guise of scientific research is an absolute farce. If the Japanese were sincere in there desire to do scientific research on whales they would be tracking whales for knowledge and greater understanding of behavioural and lifestyle patterns, not trying to kill them. The scientific research that can be done once a living creature is dead is extremely limited.

Also I don’t understand how if the Japanese government want to maintain good international relationships with other heads of states, governments and countries they could have the audacity to cull whales, and still expect to maintain good public relations with the rest of the world.
With the Japanese governments continued determination to keep culling whales, there is a very real and growing animosity and hatred towards not only what they are doing, but also towards there Government, for continuing to do this despite the worlds diplomatic attempts to stop them from the senseless slaughter of whales just because they can.

Whales mate for life and they travel in family pods. They also grieve when they lose a family member. The Japanese Government officials that allow this to continue, need to imagine what it would be like for someone to walk into their house and murder there mother, father, brother, sister, son or daughter. If they don’t feel that they would like it and that they would grieve, than they probably need to stop the senseless slaughter, because how they would feel, is exactly the same as what our whales feel too!

Yours truly,

Louise French

I think people should give Yasuo Fukuda a chance. Afterall he is currently faced with a huge mess left behind by Abe.He seems credible and might be able to unite or at least pull together the major factions in LDP with his "dove" soft skills.

Nevertheless he is faced with a huge challenge and I believe his administration will encounter many problems. But I really hope he can lead Japan out of this political mess.
